Graduated Cylinders
Graduated Cylinders come in various sizes. The most common sizes are 10mL, 25mL, 50mL, 100mL, 500mL, and 1000mL.
The volume of the liquid inside the graduated cylinder can be read by measuring the lowest portion of the meniscus.
To read a cylinder, you must know the value of each measuring line. If for example you have a 100mL graduated cylinder, each subgraduate is equal to 1mL. If you have a 25mL graduated cylinder and notice there are 10 subgraduates between 15mL and 20mL, then each subgraduate will equal to half of the above mentioned example and therefore be .5mL.
